Police Respond To 2 Crashes Minutes Apart On Route 53

Three people were hurt in one of the Thursday, Jan. 2 crashes, according to reports.

PALATINE, IL — Police responded to two crashes less than a mile apart Thursday on Route 53, according to the Daily Herald. The news report added that three people were hurt in a three-car crash just before 5 p.m. near Palatine on northbound Route 53 at Lake-Cook Road, and were all taken to area hospitals for non-life-threatening injuries, Illinois State Police officials said. The crash shut down all lanes of traffic for 40 minutes for cleanup, the Daily Herald reported, according to state police.

Before this happened, three cars were involved in a different crash about a quarter-mile to the south of Lake-Cook Road on Route 53, during which no one was injured, according to authorities. No other details are available at this time.
