Demolition of the Palatine Village Hall should be wrapping up in a couple weeks. The project, which estimates a renovated village hall building open by 2016, is a couple weeks behind schedule.

“The winter caused a little but of a delay with the demolition,” Harry Spila, Palatine director of community services said. “We’re just a week or two behind.”

“We’re leaving the structure up,” Spila said. “They’re basically gutting it and taking the skin off and using the structure of the building.”

Wilson Street (northeast corner of Wilson & Smith Streets, just south of the railroad tracks) until further notice while the current Village Hall undergoes extensive renovations. Village Hall hours will remain consistent (Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.), the phone number will remain the same (358-7500), and mail may continue to be sent to 200 E. Wood Street.
