Two Arrested in Armed Robbery in Palatine
The two offenders were arrested the next day.

Ivan Rodriguez, 22 of the 1200 block of Long Valley Drive. in Palatine was arrested on April 1 on charges of armed robbery, fleeing and eluding a police officer and driving without a valid license.18-year-old Brandon Rodriguez, 18 of 1300 block of Whitewater Lane in Palatine was arrested on charges of armed robbery.
The robbery took place on March 31 in the 1000 block of N. Bayside Drive, police reported.

“The victims, an 18-year-old male and a 19-year-old female resident, reported that while walking through the apartment complex parking lot, they were approached by two subjects in a silver Volkswagen Jetta,” Palatine Police said in a written release. “The two subjects exited the vehicle and demanded valuables from the victims while one of the subjects threatened them with a metal pipe. Taken from the victims were an IPhone 6 and a case of soda.
“The offenders got back into the vehicle and fled the scene.”

No one was injured during the incident.
On the night of the robbery, police were unable to stop the offending vehicle, but they were able to get the vehicle license plate.
“On April 1, the silver Volkswagen was located and stopped at Rand Rd. and Frontage Rd.
Bond was set on April 2 and was set at $150,000 for Ivan Rodriguez and $225,000 for Brandon Rodriguez was $225,000”D”. The next court date for both will be April 23.
