Update: Wandering Girl Was Allegedly Abandon at Forest Preserve

A father is in custody Wednesday in connection with a 4-year-old girl who was found wandering near Allison Woods Forest Preserve in Cook County, ABC7 News is reporting.

Aliyah was found by good Samaritans Tuesday night at around 6:30 p.m.

“They stopped to care for her. They saw this little girl crying, waving her arms. So they stayed with her until forest preserve police came and then our officers arrived,” Cara Smith, Cook County Sheriff’s Office, told ABC7 news.

“The sheriff’s department has not said what charges- if any- are pending against the father,” ABC7 said. “He is being held outside of Illinois because that is where he was located by officials.”
