WCI invites Lassies to A Wee Bit of Fashion…be part of the Giving
Palatine High School graduate sends a message of appreciation for her Women's Club of Inverness scholarship in 1995.
At the Women’s Club of Inverness December membership meeting, the Fashion Show 2019 Co-Chairs, Fran Guziel and Liz McKay revealed the spring 2019 fundraiser: A Wee Bit of Fashion.
The theme unveiling coincided with WCI receiving a message from a former scholarship recipient. Aleksandra (Malyszko) Cozzi. A 1995 scholarship winner and Palatine High School graduate, Aleksandra wanted to convey her appreciation. Commenting on the importance of the award, Cozzi said, “I still appreciate and feel lucky to have been a WCI scholarship recipient in 1995. The proceeds funded books/supplies during my first year at Illinois State University, launching my college career to earn two degrees and graduate top in my class. It was an honor to be selected and added reassurance and confidence at a needed time.”
To date, WCI has reinvested close to $850,000 in grants to local philanthropy organizations, plus $400,000 in post-secondary scholarships to selected students residing in the geographical boundaries of school districts #211 and #220. As a 501(c)(3), all proceeds from WCI’s two fundraisers are earmarked for the Club’s philanthropy and scholarship awards.
