Let's say you are one of the 28 percent who do not have a Palatine
Library card. Let's say you've never stepped foot in Palatine Library
and wouldn't know where to find it. Why should YOU vote Yes on April 2
for the Palatine Library Referendum?
Your property values. Do you
want to protect your property values? In addition to good schools, a
good public library adds value to the community. The Library has far
more than books and movies. Its resources help with job searches and
money investment. It provides needed places for study and community
group meetings. Palatine is a community that is pushing forward: willing
to learn more and do more to be a driving force for the future. This is
a community that values learning and education--not only for children
but for all ages.

That desire for a better life protects your property values.

Oh, and Library expenses are projected to rise above the expected
income from the current tax rate. In addition, the Library is facing
major repairs to the roof, ventilation system, and lighting. The current
tax rate is not enough to pay for both the projected increase in costs
and the major repairs. Those are important reasons to Vote Yes, too.

(The Main Library is at 700 N. North Court, Palatine. It's in that
office complex north of the curve where Northwest Highway turns west --
you know, west of the Palatine Police Department and Mariano's. They
would love for you to visit!)
