House Built At Site Of John Wayne Gacy Murders For Sale
The Norwood Park Township home was built after the serial killer's home was torn down.
NORWOOD PARK, IL — A three-bedroom house built on the same Norwood Park Township land where serial killer John Wayne Gacy's home stood 40 years ago is currently on the market, according to realtor.com. The brick home in Maine South High School's district includes two bathrooms, a huge backyard, an updated kitchen, a big second-story loft, clean basement with laundry spot, a two-sided fireplace and more.
The home was built after Gacy’s ranch home was torn down in 1979, and in 1986 its address changed from 8213 W. Summerdale Ave. to 8215.
It wasn't until after the disappearance of 15-year-old Des Plaines Robert Piest in December 1978 that investigators arrested Gacy, leading to the grisly discovery of 29 bodies and skeletal remains in the crawl space of the since-demolished home.

Last year, investigators hoped facial reconstructions would lead to the identification of two young men found buried beneath the home of the serial killer. The National Center For Missing and Exploited Children, along with the Cook County Sheriff's office, released the facial reconstructions of the two unknown Gacy victims, designated as "John Doe #10" and "John Doe #13." The facial reconstruction images developed by a forensic artist are believed to show what both young men looked like in life.
Gacy was ultimately tried and convicted of the murders of 33 young men in 1980. He was executed by lethal injection in 1994 at the Stateville Correctional Center in Crest Hill.
