City Issues Public Safety Pension Fee Reminders
More than 20,000 notices were sent out on Jan. 19.
Peoria IL–On January 19th, 2021, over 20,000 reminder notices were sent out to city of Peoria residents regarding their unpaid public safety pension fee because residents may not have received the first billing statement, mailed on December 1, 2020.
In order to ensure all residents received a billing statement, notices were generated for those residents who may not have received a bill and/or had not remitted payment by mid-January 2021. No penalty fee was assessed on these notices. The notices were a reminder that the fee is due, and to provide citizens with an invoice in case they did not receive one previously. If a resident paid after January 19, 2021, they are receiving the notice because the payment may have posted after the bill was sent.
