First 2020 Homicide Death In Peoria
On arrival to the scene, Police officers and EMS discovered a male unresponsive, not breathing, and obviously deceased.

On Thursday, February 27, 2020, at just after 0900, the Peoria Police Department and Peoria Fire Department were called to the 1300 Block of E. Hilcrest regarding a man down and not moving.

On arrival to the scene, Police officers and EMS discovered a male unresponsive, not breathing, and obviously deceased.
24-year-old Shawaan M. Warr of E. Hilcrest, was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:25 am this morning; on initial exam, it was apparent that he had been shot. Where on his body and how may times he was shot is not yet known at this time.

An autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow. This case is being investigated as a homicide and remains under investigation by the Peoria County Coroner’s Office and the Peoria Police Department.
