Temporary traffic control lights are being installed and will be in place until July 2021, when the bridge deck is scheduled to be replaced. Motorists should expect delays.
The Highway Department had been monitoring the bridge, and earlier this month they found it had deteriorated since its last inspection. After consulting with the Illinois Department of Transportation, it was decided to reduce the bridge to one 12-foot lane.
Questions should be directed to the Peoria County Highway Department at (309) 697-6400.
