ST. CROIX COUNTY, WI — A 52-year-old Peoria man was injured Thursday when he was struck by a hit and run driver, police in Wisconsin said. Police said Edward Bridges was riding a bicycle on U.S. Highway 12 in Warren, Wisconsin, when he was struck by a 2013 Ford Focus. According to police, Bridges flew over the windshield and landed in a ditch.
The driver of the Ford Focus, 43-year-old Brian Warwick of Roberts, Wisconsin, didn't stop after the crash, and kept driving as a witness followed, police said. Deputies stopped Warwick's car on Highway 12 in the nearby town of Hudson.
Warwick is charged with hit and run and causing injury by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle, police said.
