Peoria Nurse Surprised with $2,500 Scholarship to WGU

Michelle Gallagher, of Peoria, was recently surprised with a $2,500 Healthcare Partners scholarship to Western Governors University. The scholarship is open to employees of WGU’s partner hospitals and healthcare organizations who wish to advance their education to become educators, managers and leaders in vital healthcare fields.

Gallagher, who works as an RN in the Neonatal ICU at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, is pursuing a Master of Science in Nursing Education at the online, nonprofit university.

Christy Seawall, who serves as Strategic Partnerships Manager with WGU, presented Gallagher with the scholarship at her workplace on Nov. 13.
