Peoria Police Give Teen Curfew Reminder
Peoria Police are reminding parents and community members about teen curfew laws.

PEORIA, IL — Summer is officially here and with it comes community members' plans to be out and about during the upcoming months, leading Peoria Police to remind everyone about curfew. In a recent Facebook reminder, police say everyone ages 12 and under must be off the streets from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. If your child is between the ages of 13 to 16, they need to stay in from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, but can stay out until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Peoria Police say anyone behind the wheel, whether it's a 15-year-old with a permit or those who are 16 or 17 years old, are restricted from driving from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., Sunday to Thursday, and 11 p.m. to 6 a.m., Friday and Saturday.
There are, of course, exceptions for those who are coming home from work or with a guardian, and those details can be found at ilga.gov, in addition to what happens to those caught out passed curfew.
