Peoria Public Works Employee To Serve As New Chairman Of American Public Works Association.
Deputy Director Sie Maroon has been appointed as chairman of the Central Branch of the Illinois Chapter of the APWA.
The city of Peoria Public Works Department is pleased to announce Deputy Director Sie Maroon has been appointed as chairman of the Central Branch of the Illinois Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA). The APWA is a nonprofit that serves some 30,000 members nationwide and promotes the value of public works and enhances its visibility and awareness.
Maroon will take on the voluntary role this month and serve a two-year term representing public works employees within 20 counties in central Illinois. As part of his duties he will preside over meetings, serve as a branch representative for the Illinois Chapter and engage and collaborate with fellow members at the annual APWA Illinois Chapter Conference.

“It’s a privilege and honor to represent Peoria and serve as the leader of our local APWA branch,” said Maroon. “I’m incredibly proud of the work our members do on a daily basis to improve infrastructure and quality of life for central Illinois residents.”
Maroon previously served on the APWA as a vice chairman and has 30 years of experience working in a public works capacity including six years as deputy director of Peoria Public Works.
