Peoria School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Peoria is August 16. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Peoria Public School District has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/14 - 8/15: Institute Day
• 8/16: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/27: Early Dismissal (SIP Day)

October

• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/19: Evening Parent/Teacher Conferences
• 10/20: No School for Students (Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 10/25: Early Dismissal

November

• 11/10: No School (Veterans Day)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Break)

December

• 12/21: Early Dismissal (Last Day Before Winter Break)
• 12/22 - 1/4: No School (Winter Break)

January

• 1/1 - 1/4: No School (Winter Break)
• 1/5: No School for Students (Institute Day)
• 1/8: School Resumes for Students
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday)
• 1/31: Early Dismissal (SIP Day)

February

• 2/19: No School (President's Day)
• 2/28: Early Dismissal (SIP Day)

March

• 3/5: No School (Count Pulaski Day, student attendance day if an emergency day is used)
• 3/22: Evening Parent/Teacher Conferences
• 3/23: No School for Students (Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 3/30 - 4/6: No School (Spring Break)

April

• 4/2 - 4/6: No School (Spring Break)
• 4/9: School Resumes

May

• 5/18: H.S. Graduation Rehearsals
• 5/19: High School Graduation Day
• 5/24: Last Day for Students, Early Dismissal (if no emergency days are used)
• 5/25: Last Day for Teachers (if no emergency days used)
