Attic Fire Leaves Plainfield Home Uninhabitable

The Plainfield Fire Protection District was able to extinguish the flames and no one was injured.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A fire in Plainfield Wednesday rendered a house uninhabitable, fire district officials said in a release.

Firefighters received a call about the fire at 7:12 a.m. and after arriving at a house in the 24000 block of Sleepy Hollow Lane, they saw that the attic was ablaze. With the help of other fire departments in the area, they were able to extinguish the fire and no one was injured.

The Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced family and the cause of the fire is under investigation by the MABAS Division 15 Fire Investigators.
