Bakery Moving Out of Downtown Plainfield

After nearly a decade, a downtown Plainfield bakery is getting ready to relocate.

Cathy’s Sweet Creations, 24042 W. Lockport St., announced Friday via Facebook that it will move to a new location in Crest Hill this fall.

The bakery, which opened in 2005, will remain in Plainfield until Oct. 31. After that, it will share space Sweets ‘n’ Treats, 21121 Division St. in Crest Hill.

In a Facebook post, Cathy’s said the new location will boast more floor space and a private party room for birthday parties, decorating classes and gingerbread house decorating. The new location will be open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. seven days a week.

Currently, Cathy’s is open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays, according to the page.

“We hope you will share in the joy over the next three months as we transition to Crest Hill,” the shop’s Facebook post said.
