PLAINFIELD, IL — The Forest Preserve District of Will County invites the public take in the sights and sounds of birds at Lake Renwick Heron Rookery Nature Preserve. Viewings of nesting herons, egrets and cormorants will take place every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., May 4 through June 29.

“Because the preserve has controlled access during nesting season, this is the only way to view these amazing creatures at this time of year,” officials said in a statement.

During the event, the public is encouraged to ask questions of volunteers and staff.
