CAPE Parent Group Seeking District Award Nominations

The award honors individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the district and community through volunteerism.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Coordination of Administration and Parent Groups For Educational Efficiency — also called CAPE — is seeking nominations for its annual community award.

The group comprises parents and district administrators representing each of District 202's schools and parent organizations. The CAPE Community Award was established in 1983 to honor individuals who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the district and community through volunteerism, officials said.

Nominations can be made online through the district's homepage. The deadline is 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 13. Past winners are not eligible to be nominated again.

Officials say the 2019 recipient of the CAPE Community Award will be announced March 19 at the 43rd annual CAPE Award reception and award ceremony. The event will be held at Plainfield South High School at 6 p.m., with awards starting at 7:30 p.m. Light refreshments will be served.
