The program, which stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education, teaches students to make healthy decisions and live free "from violence, substance use and other dangerous behaviors." Plainfield School District's D.A.R.E. program taught about 800 students during the 2019-20 school year, and graduates are able to reunite at the July 29 event.

The program "took a hit" over the past year due to the pandemic, according to Sergeant Colin Mulacek, but it's returning to classrooms in the fall.
