District 202 Schools In Plainfield To Close Until Friday
Officials expect classes to resume as normal on Friday.
PLAINFIELD, IL — All District 202 schools and facilities will close at 6 p.m. Tuesday and remain closed through Thursday, Jan. 31, according to a news release. No employees, including 12-month staff, will be required to report to work unless otherwise notified.
Weather officials are warning of life-threatening cold over the next several days. The National Weather Service says wind chills may fall to 55 degrees below zero tonight through Thursday morning. Such low temperatures can cause the rapid onset of frost bite and hypothermia.
The district plans to resume normal operations Friday morning.
