Drauden Point Eighth Graders Raise $1,500 For Aunt Martha's

The students organized a holiday-themed family night to benefit the community health non-profit.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 congratulated eighth graders at Drauden Point Middle School for raising $1,500 for Aunt Martha's Youth Service Center.

Auth Martha's is a private, not-for-profit health and social services provider based in Illinois. The group provides community services to homeless and at-risk youth, as well as drug and alcohol treatment programs, health and psychiatric services, and mentoring programs.

"Aunt Martha’s has become a critical resource for youth and families throughout Illinois, empowering patients and clients to face these issues head-on and find sustainable and tailored solutions that allow them to live a better life," according to the group's website.

To raise money for the group, officials said, the school's eight grade class organized and ran Santa's Workshop, an annual family night with games, crafts, story time and a visit from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
