PLAINFIELD, IL — Backroads Pub and Grill in Plainfield has temporarily shuttered its doors after an employee tested positive for COVID-19, owners Dave and Stacey Harris announced in a social media post Saturday.

"You, as well as our employees, are our top priority and we will be conducting another deep clean throughout the entire restaurant," the Facebook post said.

This popular eatery had previously shut down in order to keep diners safe amid the pandemic, even when other restaurants in the area were reopening their dining rooms. Despite losing a portion of his revenue due to this decision, Dave told Patch in an earlier interview that "we do still feel that people are pretty resistant and just not ready for indoor dining, which we completely understand."

Backroads Pub and Grill is slated to reopen Tuesday, but people have been asked to check the social media page for updates.
