Fire Engulfs Hot Tub In Plainfield Home

A woman and her three children were in the house at the time, but they were able to evacuate and no one got hurt.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Plainfield Fire Protection District responded to a structure fire late Thursday morning in the 2400 block of Woodhall Court, where they found a hot tub engulfed by the flames.

Chief John Stratton said officers had to go around the back of the house and saw that the fire was starting to spread to the deck as well as the house.

A woman and her three children were in the house at the time, but they were able to evacuate and no one got hurt. Stratton said since the house was in an area devoid of fire hydrants, the department had to bring their tankers filled with water.
