Flood Warnings, Watches, Storms In Chicago Weather Forecast

A tornado warning also recently expired in the Bloomington area.

ILLINOIS — With a tornado warning recently expiring in McClean County and storms moving northeast, plus significant risk of storms and winds up to 60 mph for some areas, the National Weather Service has issued several flood watches and warnings throughout Illinois. A flood warning is in effect in Lake County until 4 p.m. Oct. 12. In Kane and McHenry counties, a flood warning is in place until further notice, while a flash flood watch is in place until 10 p.m. Monday for Boone, DeKalb, LaSalle, Lee, Ogle and Winnebago counties, according to the NWS.

The National Weather Service said counties including Will, Cook, Kane, DuPage, Kendall, Grundy, Lake and McHenry could see scattered storms through Sunday evening. Some storms may be severe with gusty winds and limited fog risk. Storms could spread across parts of northeast Illinois and northwest Indiana, possibly leading to flash flooding.

The Chicago area could get more rain on Monday as well as Wednesday, with temperatures back into the 80s for the early part of the week after dipping into the 50s over the weekend. By Thursday, the temperature is expected to drop back to the low 50s.
