Khaos Brewcade and Kitchen Opens For Business In Plainfield
The arcade, brewery and restaurant offers 40 vintage and new video games, unique beers and pub food in the former space occupied by Nevin's.
PLAINFIELD, IL — The owners of a familiar Plainfield eatery have launched a new business venture that combines video games, pub food and beer.
Khaos Brewcade and Kitchen opened in late March on Route 59 in the space formerly occupied by Nevin’s Brewing Company, which closed for good in 2017 five years after opening along with other restaurants owned by the same chain. Now, four years later, the owners of Chop’d — who also own and operate Craft’d on Route 30 in Plainfield — have launched the new business.
The space includes more than 40 classic and new video games, pinball machines and other sports games as well as an impressive menu of food and beverages. The restaurant side of the business is still connected to the Chop’d brand and brewery operation while the major new addition is the arcade games.

The restaurant brands its style as “Culinary Rebel”, according to its social media channels and menu items include bacon wrapped jalapenos, baked crab dip, Tempera calamari, brisket quesadillas as well as a full array of sandwiches, tacos, smash burgers, salads, wings, pizza and Chop’d pockets.
Attempts by Patch to reach the management of the new restaurant and brewcade venture this week were not successful.

The Plainfield location is the former home to Limestone Brewing. The site became a popular destination for award-winning beers and a music venue. The brewery changed its name to Midnight Brewing in 2017, but the chain that owned the restaurant also experienced its share of turmoil.
The chain went through a foreclosure lawsuit involving the Naperville and Evanston locations, which was settled in 2013. In 2016, the Plainfield Nevin's faced controversy in 2016 when a patron died after collapsing during a concert at the venue.
