Plainfield 'Bearman' Nominated To Ford Hall Of Fans

A winner will be announced during the Super Bowl. Find out how to vote for Plainfield local Don Wachter.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield man Don Wachter has been nominated to the Ford Hall of Fans, NBC Chicago reports. Known as "Bearman" for his love of the Chicago football team, Wachter was nominated by former Bears linebacker Brian Urlacher, who surprised Wachter at his home shortly before Christmas.

Urlacher, himself, was recently inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

"Brian Urlacher surprised me at my home in Plainfield to actually inform me I was in fact a Ford Hall Of Fans Nominee," Wachter wrote on Facebook Monday. "It was a truly amazing experience!! Brian is not only a great Linebacker, He is such a great guy to us Bear Fans!! Had a Great Time with him and all the crew from Ford Motor Co. and Bleacher Report. Thank You everybody for such a great experience that I will cherish the rest of my life!! Grrrrrrrrr.........!!!!!!!!!"

Wachter is one of six fans nominated nationwide. The public can vote on a winner, who will be named during the Super Bowl on February 3.
