Plainfield Moose Lodge Plans 20th Annual Thanksgiving Turkey Drop
The Plainfield Moose Lodge will be collecting frozen turkeys and other non-perishable items this Saturday during the annual "Turkey Drop."
PLAINFIELD, IL — The season of Thanksgiving is upon us, and the Plainfield Moose Lodge is getting into the swing of it. This Saturday Nov. 23, Lodge members, along with the Ford family of Plainfield, will be collecting frozen turkeys and other items as part of their annual "Turkey Drop" event. Now in its 20th year, the Turkey Drop aims to help feed local families in need over the holidays.
All food items will be collected between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Moose Lodge on 16310 S. Lincoln Highway, half a mile north of I-55 in Crest Creek Plaza. Only frozen turkeys will be accepted, but those without a cold bird can also donate non-perishable food items at the same site. Monetary donations will also be accepted to purchase additional food; those mailing checks should also write "Turkey Drop" prominently on the envelope. Checks can be addressed to:

All those who donate on Saturday will be welcome to stay for a complimentary brunch at the Lodge. Businesses that send donations will be added to the lodge's “Bragging Board” of sponsors and have their name featured on the Turkey Drop website. Tax deductable information is also available upon request.
Beneficiaries of the Turkey Drop include the Plainfield Interfaith Food Pantry, the Green Harvest Food Pantry in Plainfield, and families of Plainfield School District 202. For more information, the Plainfield Moose Lodge can be reached at 815-254-1403.
