Plainfield North Wins First State Title In Baseball
The girls softball team also came away with a second-place nod.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Plainfield North's Tigers brought home their first Class 4A state baseball title, while the PNHS girls softball team came away with a second-place finish in the finals. The Tigers defeated Huntley 4-3 Saturday at Joliet Route 66 Stadium to bring the championship home.
It's the first state championship for PNHS athletics and the second title in District 202 history. The Plainfield South boys bowling team won the state title in 2010, according to the Herald-News.
Meanwhile, the girls softball team fell to Rock Island 2-0 Saturday at the EastSide Centre in Peoria after defeating Palatine 7-0 a day earlier.

Last month, the PNHS boys won their ninth regional in a row to advance to the championship.
