New Mask Rules For Vaccinated Plainfield Park District Prairie Fit Members

Vaccinated members will not be required to wear masks while exercising, but are asked to wear them while moving from machine to machine.

PLAINFIELD, IL —In accordance with the information put forth recently by the local and state governing bodies along with the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention), the Plainfield Park District is announcing some policy updates.

Effective Monday, June 7th, 2021 Prairie Fit members who are fully vaccinated no are longer required to wear approved face coverings while inside the fitness center.

While exercising, patrons will not be required to wear face coverings inside Prairie Fit; however, when traveling from machine to machine (or piece of equipment), the park district asks that you continue to wear your mask.

According to the CDC, people are considered fully vaccinated two (2) weeks after receiving their second dose in a 2-dose series, or two (2) weeks after a single-dose vaccine.

For the safety of all involved, we ask that members be honest with their vaccination status. At this time, we will not be asking to see proof of vaccination.

Those members not fully vaccinated will still be required to wear approved face coverings for the duration of their time inside of the Prairie Activity & Recreation Center (PARC).

Please note while face coverings will not be required for those fully vaccinated, members will still be asked to adhere to social distancing, cleaning of machines before and after use, and continue to wear a face covering, whether vaccinated or not, when inside of PARC (other than inside the fitness center), until further notice.
