Plainfield School Calendar 2017-18: First Day Of School, Vacations, Conferences

The first day of school in Plainfield is August 17. Feel free to mark it on your calendar as one of the most dreaded days of the year for students and teachers — and feel free not to feel guilty about marking it as one of your favorites. The Plainfield Community Consolidated School District 202 has released its 2017-2018 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

• 8/17: First Day of School

September

• 9/4: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/18: Early Release (School Improvement Day)

October

• 10/9: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/20: End of First Quarter
• 10/23: Early Release (School Improvement Day)

November

• 11/2: No School for Students (Teacher Institute), Evening Parent/Teacher Conferences
• 11/3: No School for Students (Parent/Teacher Conferences)
• 11/22 - 11/24: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/22: Early Release (School Improvement Day), End of First Semester
• 12/25: No School (Winter Break Begins)

January

• 1/8: Classes Resume
• 1/15: No School (Martin Luther King Jr's Birthday)

February

• 2/5: Early Release (School Improvement Day)
• 2/19: No School (Presidents’ Day)

March

• 3/2: No School for Students (Teacher Institute)
• 3/9: End of Third Quarter
• 3/12: Early Release (School Improvement Day)
• 3/26: No School (Spring Break Begins)

April

• 4/3: Classes Resume
• 4/16: Early Release (School Improvement Day)
• 4/27: No School for Students (District Institute)

May

• 5/19: Tentative High School Graduation
• 5/25: Tentative Last Day of School (if no emergency days are used), Early Release (School Improvement Day)

June

• 6/4: Tentative Last Day of School (if ALL emergency days are used)
