Plainfield School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School, Vacation

PLAINFIELD, IL — The first day of school in Plainfield is August 16 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Plainfield School District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 8/16: First Day of School (Grades Pre-K-12)
• 8/17: First Day of School (BMLC 3-Day Programs)

September

• 9/3: No School (Labor Day)
• 9/17: Early Release (School Improvement Day)

October

• 10/8: No School (Columbus Day)
• 10/22: Early Release (School Improvement Day)

November

• 11/5-11/6: No School (Parent Teacher Conferences, Evening Schedule)
• 11/21-11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/21: Early Release (School Improvement Day)
• 12/24-1/6: No School (Winter Break Begins)

January

• 1/7: Classes Resume
• 1/21: No School (Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday)

• 2/18: No School (Presidents’ Day)

March

• 3/1: No School (Teacher Institute)
