Plainfield Village Offices Closed, Police Still On Patrol
Officials expect operations to resume as normal on Thursday.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Village of Plainfield offices are closed as of 11 a.m. Wednesday due to extreme cold weather. That includes public works and the public records office at the Plainfield Police Department. Police and firefighters will still be working.
For public works issues, call the police non-emergency number: 815-436-2341. For emergencies, call 911 as normal.
While some village employees may get the day off, police are stuck working in the cold. But that doesn't mean they aren't having some fun. In nearby McLean, Illinois, police say they are holding Elsa, from Disney's "Frozen," without bond, while authorities in Moline, Illinois, are imploring criminals to stay inside and enjoy Netflix instead of committing crimes.
