Plainfield Yard Waste Pickup Extended Due To Snow

Residents have another week to get rid of their yard waste. Find out the new pickup dates.

PLAINFIELD, IL — Due to a storm that dumped several inches of snow throughout the area, the Village of Plainfield said yard waste pickup for village residents will be extended by one week.

"The last day for yard waste pickup is now Monday, Dec. 3 for residents with Monday pickup; Wednesday, Dec. 5 for residents with Wednesday pickup; and Thursday, Dec. 6 for residents with Thursday pickup," the village said, adding, "Please note: Leaves are considered yard waste and are not an exception to the final yard waste collection date. They must be packaged in brown Kraft bags or yard waste carts. Uncontained leaves will not be collected. Yard waste collection will resume in April 2019."

Blizzard Closings, Late Starts, Road Conditions In Will County

Brush, grass clippings and leaves should be placed in Kraft yard waste bags or a Waste Management yard waste cart. These items will NOT be accepted as yard waste: sod, trees, stumps, dirt, pavers and mulch.
