Plainfield's Historic Varley-Olsen House Can Be Yours For $575K

The local landmark has some unique finishes, like a 300-bottle wine cellar and backyard pavers featuring bricks from North Central College.

PLAINFIELD, IL -- Plainfield's historic Varley-Olsen house has hit the market, and just underwent a price cut. The local landmark can now be yours for $575,000.

The Victorian-style home at 14931 S. Barlett Ave. was built around 1905, according to the village. Many of its historic elements are still intact, including stained-glass windows and interior woodwork. But that is not to say the home looks outdated. In fact, it underwent a rehab in 2004 and now includes many modern and unique finishes.

Those include a 300-bottle wine cellar in the basement, which is decorated in stone and with antique signs. Its three-car garage includes heated floors, a motorcycle lift and an upstairs entertainment space that includes a loft accessible by ladder.
