RE/MAX Agent Hosts Event for Plainfield School District
Krista Laskowski of RE/MAX Ultimate Professionals Gives Back to Children of Plainfield Central Elementary
The Sweetheart Dance is a tradition of Plainfield Central Elementary for over a decade. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the elementary school was unable to host this much-beloved event this year. RE/MAX Ultimate Professionals and PTO President, Krista Laskowski took matters into her own hands to find a way to give back to the children of Plainfield.
The sun was shining on February 19, as Laskowski set up the exterior of the RE/MAX Ultimate Professionals Plainfield office for a Sweetheart Dance that coincided with CDC guidelines and proved to be a success with those yearning for a way to celebrate the aforementioned canceled event.
Laskowski arranged for a Valentine’s Day-themed backdrop and selfie stand, which several children and parents had their photos taken with, provided by Ellis Pine Photography.

Also provided was a slew of prepackaged treats, cookies, and snacks for the children to take with them. Local restaurant Moe Joe’s also offered a free kid’s meal to attendees. Children enjoyed their time outside of the RE/MAX Ultimate Professionals office while listening to music provided by a virtual DJ sponsored by Boerman Moving, Storage & Logistics.
"Our school is a very close-knit community that enjoys many events throughout the year,” said Laskowski. “The pandemic has put a halt on in-person events, but we still wanted to carry on this fun tradition in a safe way. To me, it's important for the students to have that connection to the school and feel the community aspect."

Nearly 100 families signed up for the virtual dance, making the event a hit and a creative alternative to the Sweetheart Dance. Wonderful memories were made this year, and Laskowski has once again proven the perseverance and determination of RE/MAX Ultimate Professionals agents in wanting to give back to their communities.
