Romeoville Defeats Plainfield PD At 'Softball In The Snow'
Plainfield police held the charity game trophy for seven consecutive years.

ROMEOVILLE, IL — Plainfield and Romeoville police enjoyed a sunny Sunday as they played in the annual Softball in the Snow charity ballgame to benefit the Wish Upon A Star foundation, which grants the wishes of terminally ill children. Though Plainfield held the traveling trophy for the past seven years, Romeoville emerged victorious, defeating Plainfield PD 16-6.
"Ouch!" Plainfield police said in a Facebook post.
"PPD Det. Carianne Siegel begrudgingly handed over the trophy to RPD Officer Gary Augustine. But she did reassure him, it will be back in it's rightful spot next year," Plainfield police said. "And just so no one can say we never turned it over, the exchange took place at the PPD Internet Exchange area."
