PLAINFIELD, IL — A semi-truck tipped over near the intersection of 143rd Street and Route 59 in Plainfield around 7 a.m. on Thursday, police and fire officials said. The tipping was caused by the truck's load shifting as the driver made a turn onto 143rd Street, Plainfield Fire Chief Jon Stratton said.

"He wasn't going too fast or anything," Stratton said.

Police asked all commuters to avoid the area while workers righted the truck. 143rd street from Route 59 to Van Dyke was completely shut down for about an hour, but by 10:30 a.m. the road was re-opened to all traffic.
