Temporary Closures On Lockport Street Thursday: Police

Due to a planned protest at 5:30 p.m., the Plainfield PD said it is expecting several road closures.

PLAINFIELD, IL — In a social media post, the Plainfield Police Department announced that due to a planned march Thursday, officers are anticipating several temporary road closures along Lockport Street.

Starting at 5:30 p.m., the following roads will be temporarily closed:

  • Lockport Street, between Route 59 and Van Dyke Road
  • James Street, between Fort Beggs Drive and Lockport Street
  • Main Street, between Route 59 and Lockport Street

According to protest organizer, participants will start at the Plainfield Central High School, walk up north James Street, turn left on Lockport Street over DuPage River and then head to Settlers' Park.

"We will re-open the impacted roadways as soon as we can do so safely and provide periodic updates through our social media pages," police said in the post.
