Village Reps To Answer Road Project Questions Thursday
A public information meeting is scheduled for Dec. 6 to update residents on a proposed road improvement project at West Indian Boundary Rd.

PLAINFIELD, IL — The Village of Plainfield will hold a public information meeting December 6, from 5 to 7 p.m. to update residents on a proposed road improvement project at West Indian Boundary Road from West Rowley Road to Creekside Drive, officials said. The meeting will be held at the Plainfield Public Works Facility at 14400 S. Coil Plus Drive.
According to a news release, the project will require the construction of a floodplain. To be in compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act and the Illinois Department of Transportation's public involvement policy, officials are asking for public review and comment before the project goes forward.

The village is also seeking public comment on the use of Plainfield Park District property for the road improvement project. The impact of the project should be minimal, officials said. A news release detailed a proposed o.076-acre drainage easement at Spring Hole Creek and temporary drainage easement elsewhere in Creekside Crossings Park. Additionally, a multi-use path will be temporarily closed for tree removal and bank stabilization.
Officials say the public information meetings will be conducted in an open house format, meaning you can attend at any time and have your questions answered by the village's representatives. Topics to be addressed include the need for the project, right-of-way acquisition and the project's tentative schedule.
