Werk Force Brewing Reopens As Staff Tests Negative For COVID-19

The brewery temporarily closed its doors July 11 after an employee had tested positive for the coronavirus.

PLAINFIELD, IL — A popular Plainfield brewery has reopened after it had to temporarily close its doors due to an employee testing positive for the coronavirus. Werk Force Brewing announced in a social media post Friday that its patio will now be open.

As soon as the owners were notified about the employee's health condition, they decided to close the taproom immediately in abundance of caution.

The employee had mild symptoms and had worked at the brewery till July 5. Even though the chance of transmission was seemingly low, according to the owners, it is their moral obligation to be upfront and clear with anyone that may have come into contact with them. They were also requiring all staff members to get tested.
