3 Men Arrested, Charged In Rockford Sex Sting: Police

Rockford police reported three men were arrested Jan. 12 as a result of sex sting operation.

ROCKFORD, IL — Officers from the Rockford Police Department arrested a group of men Saturday, Jan. 12 as the result of an undercover operation in District 2 targeting people trying to purchase sex, also called "Johns," the department said. Police said three men were taken into custody and were charged with solicitation of a sexual act and other charges. They are:

Marcus Evens, 47, Rockford: Solicitation of a sexual act, battery

Nathan Weingartner, 40, Machesney Park: Solicitation of a sexual act

Andre Nelson, 52, Madison, Wisconsin: Solicitation of a sexual act, possession of drug paraphernalia, suspended/revoked license

Police said the operation is part of the department’s “end demand” approach to combating street-level commercial sex trade.
