Dixon Family YMCA Celebrates $45,000 Walmart Foundation Grant
Funds will support youth programming, provide nutritious snacks

Dixon, IL (Jan. 31, 2018) –The Dixon Family YMCA celebrated a $45,000 grant from the Walmart Foundation at a ceremonial check presentation this afternoon. The grant will provide direct community support for the YMCA’s youth programming opportunities, including its child care and after school programs, as well as help provide nutritious snacks for these programs.
“The generous gift from the Walmart Foundation will allow us to serve those most in need of child care services, youth programming and healthy snacks,” said J. Andrew McFarlane, CEO of the Dixon Family YMCA. “Donations such as these help young people achieve their potential, empower people of all ages to lead healthier lives and strengthen the bonds of our community.”
The Dixon Family YMCA provides a range of youth programming options, including care for school aged children, education and leadership classes and programs that encourage staying active as well as healthy eating habits.
