Female Pedestrian Killed In Accident Involving Truck: Police
11th St. between Reed Ave. and Brooke Rd.is now open to all traffic following fatal accident.
ROCKFORD, IL — The Rockford Police Department said 11th St. between Reed Ave. and Brooke Rd.is now open to all traffic following a fatal accident involving a female pedestrian and a box truck. Police said officers responded to the 2900 block of 11th street for a truck versus pedestrian accident after 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 1. The 53-year-old woman was taken to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead, while the truck driver stayed on scene and wasn't injured, police said.
Police said the area was closed for several hours following the accident, as RPD traffic reconstructionists were called to the scene to investigate.
