Girl, 9, Dies After Car Crashes Into Tractor In NW Illinois
According to reports, authorities said a car being driven by the girl's mom hit the back of a grain cart being pulled by the tractor.
MORRISON, IL — A young Milledgeville girl died after being injured Saturday morning when the car she was in hit a farm cart being pulled by a tractor, Winnebago County Coroner Bill Hintz said, according to Sauk Valley Media. Just before 10:30 a.m., Addison Headlee was sitting in the front passenger seat of a car being driven by her mother, 45-year-old Jennifer M. Schryver of Milledgeville, headed eastbound on Illinois 40 near Ridge Road, the news report said. According to a news release from the Whiteside County Sheriff's Department, that's when Schryver tried passing a tractor, but hit the back of a grain cart being pulled by the tractor, Sauk Valley Media reported.
According to the sheriff's department, the young girl was airlifted to Javon Bea Hospital – Riverside in Rockford, where she died hours later Saturday. The sheriff's department added Schryver was taken to a local hospital, and the tractor driver wasn't injured.
