Kishwaukee Elementary Held a McTeacher’s Night At McDonald's

On Wednesday May 16th, 2018, Kishwaukee Elementary held their first McTeacher's Night at the Rockford McDonald's on Kishwaukee Street.

A McTeacher's Night is a fundraising event organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers and staff work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the night's sales back to the local school.

It was a perfect evening for a McTeacher's Night. An Amazing group of teachers and administrative staff worked from Kishwaukee Elementary School during this FUNdraiser. The jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, working the drive-thru window, selling pies, and making refreshing ice cream treats.

Parent Liaison Anita Fricks dressed in the pie costume for the entire event, she had several pie selling helpers that included Kishwaukee teachers as well as Rockford District 2 police officers Thurmond, Watson and Keen who stopped in to say hello and join in on the fun. What a great pie selling team they were. They sold so many delicious Hot Apple Pies that were donated by Bear Family Restaurants and Owner/Operator David Bear. All pie proceeds went directly to the school.

Mr. David Bear, Owner/Operator of the Kishwaukee Street McDonald's stopped by and met the teacher's, administrative staff and families that came to McDonald's and supported their school, this made the evening even more special for those who were there.

A Special thank you goes to Anita Fricks, who organized the event as well as everyone who volunteered. All who attended had a great time. The School plans to use the money raised to purchase playground supplies for the school.
