Maple Elementary in District 122 Held Their 1st McTeacher's Night

A McTeacher's Night is a fundraising event organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers and staff work at McDonald's

On Tuesday May 8th, 2018, National Teacher Appreciation Day, Maple Elementary held their first McTeacher's Night at the Rockford McDonald's on Northridge Dr.

A McTeacher's Night is a fundraising event organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers and staff work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the night's sales back to the local school.

An Amazing group of twenty-three teachers and administrative staff worked from Maple Elementary School. The jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, working the drive-thru window, selling pies, and making refreshing ice cream treats.

Teacher Annie Forrest dressed in the pie costume for the entire event, her side kick and helper was Corine Wehrle. What a great pie selling team they were. They sold 238 delicious Hot Apple Pies that were donated by Bear Family Restaurants and Owner/Operator David Bear. All pie proceeds go directly to the school.

Rockford Police District 3 Sergeant Duane Johnson along with Officer Abel Castaneda and Community Service Officer Andrew Perino stopped by the McTeacher’s Night to say hello and show their support during this event.
