Mayor Announces New Group, Event To Support Family Peace Center

From the City of Rockford: At a news conference [July 18] Mayor McNamara announced the creation of a new group – 100 Men Who Give a Damn. This effort brings together busy men in the community to make a difference without a huge time commitment. The group meets four times a year to raise money for the Mayor’s Office of Domestic Violence and Human Trafficking Prevention’s Family Peace Center initiative. At $100 per event, the goal of the group is to raise $40,000 per year.

[July 18], 100 Men Who Give a Damn Members Jeff Kellen and Rob Young helped announce the next event – a Golf Outing to be held at Mauh Nah Tee See Club on Monday, September 9.

Associated Bank, the event’s presenting sponsor, plays a vital role in this fundraising event by helping to cover costs so the participant fees will go directly to helping survivors of domestic violence.
