Rosemary was a lifelong resident of Joliet, formerly employed by Washington Jr. High School, retiring in 2002.

Rosemary Van Meter (nee Luzbetak)

Age 83, of Joliet, passed away peacefully Friday, December 28, 2018 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center. Born July 15, 1935, in Joliet, IL, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (nee Matuszewski) Luzbetak. She was a lifelong resident of Joliet, formerly employed by Washington Jr. High School, retiring in 2002.

Rosemary was an avid bingo player, loved music, and enjoyed visiting the casinos.

Rosemary is survived by her children, Raymond (Cynthia) Kijowski, Jr. of New Lenox, Linda (Richard) Pasteris of Joliet, Lisa (Ralph) Gallup of Reddick, IL, Laura Matamoros of Rockford, and Mark (Tina Venegas) Ketcherside of Joliet; 13 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; siblings, Robert (the late Carol), Joseph (Virginia), Edward (Marilyn), Richard (Kathy), Raymond (Marie) Luzbetak, and Barbara (John) Gura; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Van Meter; daughter, Laura Kijowski in infancy; two sons, Walter Kijowski and Michael Ketcherside; and her granddaughter, Jennifer Matamoros.

Visitation for Rosemary Van Meter will be held on Wednesday, January 2, 2019, from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m., at the Fred C. Dames Funeral Home, 3200 Black at Essington Rds., Joliet and Thursday, January 3, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. until the Funeral Service begins at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
