Restaurants Combine Culinary Talents Nov. 11 to Benefit Veterans

Delavan, Wis. – Local restaurants, taverns and their purveyors will spotlight their signature food and drinks – all for a great cause – at the first annual All-American Taste of the Tavern League, Nov. 11 at Lake Lawn Resort.

Attendees can enjoy food and drink tastings from noon to 3 p.m., featuring chef-selected menu samplings from the participating restaurants and bars. A multitude of beer and cocktail samplings will be available. Bella Cain, a popular top-40 country rock band, will perform.

Proceeds from “All-American Taste of the Tavern League” will be donated to VetsRoll, an organization that transports veterans and “Rosie-the-Riveters” on all-expenses-paid motor coach trips to war memorials in Washington, D.C.. The Veterans Day event will also benefit local charities supported by the Walworth County Tavern League.

Dick Leinenkugel, President of legendary Leinenkugel’s Brewing, will be on hand at Lake Lawn Resort to greet event attendees.

“We’re tremendously excited about this event, which will support veterans and important local charities by showcasing some of the best cuisine available in Walworth County,” said Dave Hills, President of the Walworth County Tavern League. “We promise a very tasty afternoon for all who attend.”

Tickets are $40 at http://walworthcountytavernleague.com/taste. Advance tickets are also available at Hawk’s View Golf Club, Village Supper Club or any Walworth County Tavern League member establishment.

Tickets will be $45 day of event. More information is available on the WCTL web site and Facebook page. Attendees must be 21 or older.

Mark Finnegan, President of VetsRoll, expressed appreciation for the support of the Walworth County Tavern League and its many customers and friends.

“The Walworth County Tavern League, and all its fellow local chapters of the Tavern League of Wisconsin, are truly a ‘family’ that completely understands the role of closure that VetsRoll fills in the souls of America’s senior heroes,” Finnegan said. “With TLW members hosting VetsRoll fund-raisers across the entire state, we realize how blessed we are for this partnership!”

The Tavern League of Wisconsin, parent organization of the Walworth County Tavern League, donated more than $50,000 to VetsRoll in April at its 2018 Spring Conference. The donation was among the largest ever received by the organization.

The Walworth County Tavern League encourages attendees to be responsible at its Nov. 11 event. Discounted rooms are available at Lake Lawn Resort starting at $89. SafeRide, which provides free transportation home for those who might be impaired, will be available.
